Die berufliche Bildung in Costa Rica hat durch laufende Reformen, Umstrukturierungs- und Anpassungsprozesse an sozialer, politischer und wirtschaftlicher Relevanz gewonnen. Die Förderung und Konsolidierung des costaricanischen Berufsbildungssystems sowie die Etablierung einer entsprechenden Forschungsdisziplin stehen im Mittelpunkt der internationalen Zusammenarbeit, insbesondere zwischen Costa Rica und Deutschland. Der vorliegende Sammelband gibt einen umfassenden Einblick in das costaricanische Berufsbildungssystem und die damit verbundene Forschung, indem er deskriptive und empirische Studien zusammenführt, die von dualen Ausbildungsmodellen über die Verknüpfung von Bildungs- und Beschäftigungssystem bis hin zu Lehr-Lernprozessen im costaricanischen Berufsbildungssystem reichen.
